The President of Kazakhstan held a number of meetings with the leading German companies

The program of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's working visit to Munich kicked off with a number of bilateral meetings with the heads of a leading German businesses - Klaus Lutz, Chairman of the Board of "BayWa AG", Michael Wiefers, a member of the Board of "Rhenus SE&Co.KG " and Patrick Wiedemann, Chairman of the Board of "Reverse Logistics Systems GmbH".

During the meeting with the head of one of the largest agricultural companies in Germany, Klaus Lutz, the prospects for implementing joint investment projects in the field of renewable energy sources and digitalization of the agro-industrial complex were discussed.

Noting that Kazakhstan attaches priority to the development of close and fruitful cooperation with German business, the Head of State drew the attention of the interlocutor to the priority of developing the potential of renewable energy sources and fertilizer production in our country.

"We need to build more wind and solar power plants in Kazakhstan, but there is a lack of appropriate infrastructure. Therefore, we are very interested in establishing a close partnership with your company", the President said.

During the conversation with Michael Vifers, the prospects of cooperation in the implementation of joint infrastructure projects in the transport and logistics sector were discussed.

The German businessman informed Kassym-Jomart Tokayev about the company's activities in Kazakhstan, which has two representative offices in Nur-Sultan and Almaty, and about the opening of a third representative office in Karaganda. The company expressed interest in acquiring and launching a new consolidated transport and logistics terminal on the territory of our country.

The topic of discussion of the meeting of the Head of state with Patrick Wiedemann was the prospects for the implementation of the project on the pledge-return system of packaging circulation in Kazakhstan.

The head of "Reverse Logistics Systems GmbH" expressed readiness to cooperate with Kazakhstan to create an appropriate ecosystem in the field of recycling of materials and waste.

The President highly appreciated the company's activities and unique developments, in particular, the introduction of an identifier applied to each unit of packaging for further circulation of containers.

During the meetings Kassym-Jomart Tokayev reaffirmed our Kazakhstan's interest in diversifying foreign investments, especially from Germany. He assured representatives of the business community of the full support and readiness of the state to create the necessary conditions for the implementation of joint projects.
